1. Shield booster - why doesn't it shut off - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
As far as I know, you have to shut it off yourself, which indeed can be a minor nuisance. Click it, or press its hotkey, to turn it off. It will flash red as it powers down.

2. Bloggers #54, So my Agent called and has this "offer I can't refuse.." - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
I'm not thrilled about this. 1. First, it seems like the wrong way to balance money sinks and money faucets. It's generally more fun to add sinks than to take out faucets. Better to add new features like POS's that drain money than to take away ...

4. confused - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I'm not sure what you mean by "attacking the tutorial," but I agree that doing the tutorial is a big help. Admittedly, it's a bit slow-moving and, at times, sleep-inducing, but it's pretty important to work through. Once you're through the tutor...

5. How to select what ship you will haul cargo with. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Thanks for the very helpful guide. I hadn't realized you could expand cargo size so dramatically! I've just been slapping on a couple of T1 expanders, which obviously don't have quite the drastic effect. I haul mostly as a change of pace, and ri...

6. Honest Question to the Mission Devs - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
I hope the original poster gets a substantive answer to her question. It's a perfectly legitimate inquiry. One thought, though: does the four-hour rule preclude you from finding a different agent to take a courier mission from? I thought you got ...

7. One installation or two? - in EVE Technology Lab [original thread]
I've been trying to run two instances of the same EVE client to support my two separate accounts. It works ok if one character is in a station and the other is flying around, but if both are flying, I sometimes get a very nasty blue screen of deat...

8. Xaen's List of UI Improvements - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
I just want to echo the original poster's call for more hotkeys. Playing EVE hurts my hands. Maybe I'm the only aging gamer with fragile hands in EVE, but for me it's a game-killing issue. I have to stop after a couple hours. By contrast, I can pl...

9. Dev blog posted on walking on stations - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
This is a terrific idea. In other MMOs, people do naturally congregate at gathering places just to hang out, chat, negotiate. Moreover, people will pay hard-earned in-game assets for clothing, housing, and other possessions that don't necessarily ...

10. Researching BPO - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
At least when starting out, you'll rarely want to get to perfect ME. In the example you give, perfect ME is (as the previous poster said) somewhere between 80 and 90 (491/5, to approximate it), but I doubt you'd want to research past ME of 20 or 2...

11. Top 10 List Revelations and beyond - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
1. More hotkeys, less mouse-clicking! It can't be that hard to let us bind "Target" to a hotkey. I love EVE, but it makes my hands hurt, and that curtails my play. Hotkeys are far and away my top priority. Everything else is minor by comparison, f...

12. SWG Refugee joins EVE - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I'm also a SWG refugee. Welcome! As for bounty hunting, there certainly are some opportunities for that here. To start with, virtually every NPC pirate ("rat") has a "bounty" on its head, which you collect immediately when you destroy its ship. M...

13. A few noob questions about eve... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Well, I welcome a discussion of the UI, because I have a few things I'd like to see changed too. But only a few of the original poster's concerns are on my personal list of complaints or suggestions. Suggestions I agree with: (1) it might be nic...

14. Game progression - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I agree that EVE's skill system is more relaxed than that of other games; that's one thing I love about EVE. Since you mention WoW, though, I should point out that WoW has recently abolished its former PvP rank system, in which you used to lose ...

15. What to do now? Pirates got me bummed... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Is the scanner still working? I can no longer get the top-down "system view" that allows me to see which way I'm facing when I press Scan. That graphical part of the interface disappeared, in my case, when Revelations arrived. Did I miss something?

17. Tired of level 1 missions. WTH am i doing wrong - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
There are indeed many more than 5 combat missions. And if you're getting too many courier or mining missions, you're using the wrong kind of agent. It's not just Command that gives 95% combat missions. Try Internal Security, Security, Intelligence...

18. Q about refusing missions. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
So even if I turn down a mission from agent A, I can go ahead and chat up B, and if I turn her down, go on to C, all in the space of 5 minutes? That's good to know. Up til now, I'd been simply walking away from any mission-running if an agent offe...
